De orkaan Sandy heeft ook meerdere Sunfish slachtoffers gemaakt…(reeds eerder 1 bij de Wet Pants Sailing Asscociation). Ook altijd je Sunfish op de wal aan iets vastbinden: Dwight Hahn !

Donnie Martinborough in Top Chef
The season finale of Top Chef takes place at the Royal Nassau Yacht Club. I have not seen it, but a friend of mine (a Laser sailor) just sent me an email, and said they interviewed the commodore, who said he is a three time Sunfish World Champion. That can only be one Bahamian, Donnie, the recent 7th place finisher in the Midwinters.

Sports Illustrated artikel over de Sunfish.From Portland, Ore. to Portland, Me.; from Newport Beach, Calif. to Newport News, Va.; from Manhattan, N.Y. to Manhattan, Kans. little chips of wood or Fiberglas with candy-striped sails (opposite) are scudding across the water like confetti in a gale. The chips are known as Sunfish and Sailfish, and right now they are the biggest thing there is in little sailboats…
